Strategic Development
We provide assistance with the strategic development of business support and business incubation programmes, with a focus on incubation programmes in physical or virtual settings.
In particular, we specialise in the design of holistic business incubation programmes focused on engendering an enterprise culture and addressing issues of unemployment/under-employment, social exclusion and poverty, to contribute to the revitalisation of disadvantaged and marginalised communities in urban and rural areas. These types of incubation programmes are variously known as ‘community empowerment incubation’ or ‘socially focused incubation’.
We are able to assist in the development of comprehensive business incubation programmes designed to be embedded in the local community, providing services ranging from outreach and community engagement, through to pre-start-up and post-start-up business counselling and training support.
Where clients are operating in areas with a particularly low vocational base and experiencing environmental challenges, we provide a programme of support blending vocational training in environmentally sustainable best practices with our holistic business incubation model, to meet practical environmental challenges on the ground.
These services are usually combined with the provision of physical business incubation space and incubation units for businesses to start up. Through our physical regeneration team, we are also able to assist with the development of such facilities. However, it is also quite feasible to develop an incubation programme without providing incubation units – or what is sometimes termed ‘virtual incubation’. We have assisted a range of organisations to develop virtual incubation programmes.
Support to develop various elements that combine to provide a comprehensive business incubation programme can either be purchased individually to client requirements or as a complete Business Incubation Package. These services can also be purchased within the context of our specialist youth enterprise programme youngbusiness.net.
