Organisational Capacity Building and Training

The EDW team has been providing outreach, awareness-raising, holistic business counselling, and business start-up and development support direct to potential and existing entrepreneurs and to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) for over twenty years.

During this time, we have developed an approach and model of enterprise support that has proved highly effective. For over 12 years we have been providing enterprise capacity building and training support to other organisations in the UK and internationally, to enable them to acquire the skills to set up and deliver their own holistic programmes of outreach, business counselling and training to their local communities. This organisational capacity building includes:

• Outreach Staff Training
  training in community engagement, network development and outreach skills and delivery;
• Business Counselling Training
  specifically targeted accredited training in holistic business counselling skills and ongoing support with counselling delivery;
• Modular Business Skills Training Course 
  tuition in training skills and methods relating to the delivery of business awareness and business skills development training programmes;
• Business Planning Materials
  full client and tutor materials to accompany business awareness, business skills and business planning courses;
• Technical Support Programme
  providing practical hands-on support during ‘real life’ delivery, enabling further in situ capacity building and adaptation of programmes of support, to meet local circumstances. The combination of technical support and specialist modular training has proved highly successful in providing effective skills transference.
