Equalities and Diversity

Equalities and diversity is becoming an increasingly important agenda globally, within the governmental, private and voluntary sectors, with many governments embedding core rights and principles in legislation.

Governments in the developing world are being increasingly supported through international funding programmes to develop robust policies and approaches to advance the equalities and diversity agenda.  Funding proposals frequently require that a strategy is included to account for equalities and diversity. We can help support this agenda through:

• Providing advice on equalities and diversity issues; 
• Designing equalities frameworks;
• Developing and monitoring equalities policies;
• Undertaking equalities impact assessments.

Diversity is the acknowledgement and respect of differences within and between groups of people. Equalities is the framework that enables opportunity, access, participation and contribution that is fair and inclusive.
