Kate Stillman BA (Hons), PG Dip MBACP
Business Counsellor and Trainer
Kate Stillman, who is a SFEDI (Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative) accredited Business Adviser and Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, has been a front line business counsellor and trainer at Wandsworth Youth Enterprise Centre (WYEC) since 2004.
Kate has also worked on EDW’s capacity building programmes in the UK and Central Europe, helping to transfer EDW’s holistic programme of youth enterprise support. She delivers training and counselling to young people who want to explore the option of self-employment. If appropriate, she then supports them in writing a business plan and setting up their business.
This is done through the self-empowering, client-centred counselling model which is a hallmark of WYEC, rather than through traditional advisory methods. Kate also trains staff who are employed by WYEC as business counsellors to deliver WYEC’s business counselling model.
An experienced events promoter and organiser, Kate has worked with a number of media companies, including Channel 4, MTV, Choice FM and Kiss 100. She has taken several brands abroad to Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Cyprus, Dubai, Dublin, Greece, Ibiza and Paris. In 2007, she assisted in the organisation of the first urban festival in Cyprus, which attracted over 7,000 people and introduced famous American artists to the island for the first time.
Kate also recently worked on an event for Peace Tree, a voluntary organisation that raises awareness and gives opportunities to young people at risk of becoming involved in gun, gang or knife crime, and also offers exit strategies for those already involved in crime.
