Dr Elfneh U Bariso BA MA MSc PhD

Elfneh Bariso is an experienced trainer, lecturer, researcher and manager, with well developed course planning, delivery, monitoring, review and evaluation skills.

Elfneh is passionately committed to quality lifelong learning/education, diversity, equality and community development. He has outstanding communication, interpersonal and ICT skills, a flexible approach to work, and experience of working in the private, statutory and voluntary sectors. A Fellow of the Institute of Learning, Elfneh is also a member of the Association of Learning Technologies.

Elfneh gained a PhD in Lifelong Learning and Educational Technology at the University of London in 2004, an MSc in African Studies at the University of Edinburgh in 1993 and an MA in Teaching English at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, in 1992.  Currently reading Management Studies at Greenwich School of Management Studies, London, Elfneh has been widely published and has presented at international conferences. 

Elfneh has been Founder and Chair of Action for Health, Education and Development (AHEAD) since 2004. The charity is dedicated to assisting disadvantaged rural communities in Southern Ethiopia, by initiating educational, health and development projects. Elfneh is currently leading AHEAD’s fundraising campaign to fund various development projects and set up a Vocational and Enterprise Training Institute in Ethiopia, with a special focus on young people. The Institute will address local needs via international collaboration with EDW.
